Leon Bridges announces famous Texas singer for The Big Good’s 2026 charity event

Leon Bridges is bringing a famous Texas singer to Fort Worth for his annual charity event.

The singer-songwriter founded The Big Good in 2020 alongside former TCU football coach Gary Patterson. The Fort Worth nonprofit supports local organizations that meet critical needs.

The Big Good’s biggest fundraiser of the year, aptly titled “The Big Night,” is April 9 at River Ranch Stockyards in north Fort Worth. This year’s event will raise money for UpSpire, an employment program; Tarrant Area Food Bank; United Community Centers, focusing on food and literacy; and Tarrant To & Through Partnership, which steers students toward college or careers.

Kacey Musgraves will headline The Big Night, which will also feature a special performance from Fort Worth musician Abraham Alexander.

“We started The Big Good because we wanted to create something bigger than ourselves — something that gave back to the city that raised us,” Bridges said in a press release. “Having Kacey Musgraves join us in year five is special. Her artistry and her heart for community will make this our most meaningful year yet.”

Kacey Musgraves to perform at The Big Night

An East Texas native, Musgraves was born in Sulphur Springs and grew up in Golden.

She released her first album, “Same Trailer Different Park,” in 2013, and a few more over the next decade. Her latest album “Deeper Well” released in 2024.

Musgraves and Bridges have collaborated a couple of times over the years

In 2016, Bridges was featured on the song “Present Without a Bow” from Musgraves’ holiday-themed album, “A Very Kacey Christmas.” On the extended edition of “Deeper Well,” Bridges appears on the track “Superbloom.”

At her Dallas concert in November 2024, Musgraves brought out Bridges to perform “Superbloom” with her.

The Big Night returns on April 9

Abraham Alexander, who will do the special performance at The Big Good, is based in Fort Worth.

He released his debut album “SEA/SONS” in 2023. His tune “Like a Bird” for the film “Sing Sing” was nominated for Best Original Song at the 97th Academy Awards. He also landed the “Stephen Bruton Award” for his musical contributions to film at the 2025 Lone Star Film Festival Gala.

At last year’s event, Maggie Rogers and Charley Crockett were the musical guests.

Heading into this year’s event, the organization said it will aim to set fundraising records.

“Fort Worth has shown us time and again that when we come together, real change happens. The Big Good has grown into something truly powerful,” Patterson said. “Every year, we see more people step up to be part of the mission. We’ve accomplished a lot in just five years, but we’re not slowing down.”
