Kayce Dutton takes off in new teaser for ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff ‘Y: Marshals’
A new look at the Kayce Dutton-led “Yellowstone” spinoff has been released.
Entertainment Tonight recently debuted a first look for “Y: Marshals,” which sees Luke Grimes reprising his role as the youngest Dutton sibling. The show is set to debut on CBS sometime in 2026.
“Ex-Navy SEAL Kayce Dutton (Grimes) leaves Yellowstone Ranch to join U.S. Marshals, using his cowboy and military skills to fight crime in Montana while dealing with family ties and the mental toll of law enforcement,” the show’s logline reads.
Check out the first look below.
New ‘Y: Marshals’ teaser
The new teaser does not show much footage from the show, but there are a few noteworthy items.
Kayce is seen climbing into a helicopter with his fellow U.S. Marshals, likely ready to go hunt down a fugitive. Kayce then looks to his left and flashes a smile to marshal Pete Calvin, played by Logan Marshall-Green, as he closes the door.
When Marshall-Green was cast in the show, it was revealed that his character is a friend of Kayce’s from his military days. It’s unclear if Pete is also a Navy SEAL like Kayce.
After the brief bit of footage, Entertainment Tonight interviewed Grimes about the show.
“I feel like in the original ‘Yellowstone,’ he didn’t know what to do with his life,” Grimes said. “Now he’s got a path and a journey to go on.”
The new teaser comes just over a month after CBS released a 10-second trailer for the show.
That trailer began with an overhead shot of five U.S. Marshals on horseback atop a hill looking down below. Narration from Kayce quickly follows as the camera focuses on him. “I’m changing paths, trying to find a new beginning,” he says.
The teaser ends with Kayce chasing after two fleeing black SUVs.
