Fall 2022 Guide

Haunted houses, pumpkin patches and more: Here’s what you can do this fall in DFW.

Expand All

Halloween is still a few weeks away, but there are plenty of places in Fort Worth where you can get your drink and spooky on.

Several bars are hosting pop-up events or changing their menus for the ghostly holiday. But if haunted houses are more your thing, Fort Worth has plenty of those as well.

From special menus to spooky locales, here’s where to get a festive drink this Halloween season:

Martin House Brewing Company

Martin House is known for its wide-ranging beer flavors, and this Halloween the brew masters have quite the lineup.

The brewery has crafted a new mixed four-pack called “Marty’s Little Monsters” containing four special brews:

  • Battle Bats: Vanilla milkshake IPA, 8%
  • Mr. Mummy: Vanilla toffee crunch stout, 10%
  • Wicked Wolf: Peanut butter marshmallow cream blonde, 8%
  • Gummy Ghost: Strawberry cream sour, 6%

The specialty four-pack is available at alcohol retailers across Texas now and at the Martin House tap room at 220 S. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth.

In addition, Martin House is keeping the spooky month going by hosting a “Booery Tour” on Oct. 29 from noon to 5 p.m. This year’s theme is all about zombies and the undead.

Patrons are encouraged to dress up in zombie wear, as are their pets. There will be both a human and animal costume contest.

RJ’s Cocina, Get Texas Mac and DK Twisted food trucks will be at the event. Expect live music from Ole G and a special guest, along with a candy-eating contest.

The event is family-friendly and free for those not drinking. For those drinking, a $20 wristband will cover four beers and a glass.

Martin House Brewing Company is open on Mondays from 4 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday-Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.

Nickel City Fort Worth

Nickel City has gotten a spooky makeover this October. The Southside locale is one of six bars in the U.S. to get a Halloween pop-up courtesy of Black Lagoon, a spooky-themed pop-up company. Nickel City has gone under quite the makeover, from spider webs across the walls to skeletons at every turn.

Black Lagoon is bringing a special horror themed cocktail menu:

  • Screaming Banshee: Botanist gin, Giffard L’Abricot, pineapple syrup and Greek yogurt.
  • Lilith’s Cup: Mount Gay Black Barrel, Aperol, vermouth, passionfruit syrup and glitter.

  • Closed Casket: Bruichladdich Classic, St. Remy, Giffard L’Abricot, passionfruit syrup and miso falernum.

  • Hellraiser: Hornitos, Chairman’s Spiced Rum, Cointreau, spiced oat and orgeat.

The Black Lagoon pop-up at Nickel City is until Halloween night. Nickel City is open Monday-Sunday from noon to 2 a.m. at 212 S. Main St., Fort Worth.

Tarantula Tiki Lounge

Tarantula “Terror” Lounge is bringing the scares this Halloween. The Tiki bar is celebrating October with spooky-themed cocktails all month. A few of the haunted concoctions include:

  • Ghoul Summer: The drink of the month is made with spiced rum, Guyanese rum, banana, pineapple, coconut and allspice.
  • Count Daiquiri: Barbadian rum, lime and demerara.
  • Mai Time to Die: Jamaican rum, fresh lime, dry curacao, orgeat and Mai Tai syrup.

Tarantula Tiki Lounge is open Monday-Thursday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Friday-Sunday from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. at 117 S. Main St., Fort Worth.
