Cowboys injury report: LBs Sean Lee, Justin Durant to miss Redskins game
The Dallas Cowboys will be without All-Pro linebacker Sean Lee a third straight game.
Lee has officially been ruled out of Thursday’s game against the Washington Redskins with a lingering hamstring injury. Lee re-aggravated his hamstring injury earlier this month at Atlanta, and has been sidelined ever since.
Lee’s absence has been glaring in the midst of a three-game losing streak. The Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers all rolled to 20-point victories.
This will mark the fifth game Lee has missed this season. The Cowboys have gone 0-4 in games he hasn’t played.
Linebacker Anthony Hitchens, who is listed as questionable with a groin injury, is expected to remain on the weakside in place of Lee. Jaylon Smith will start at middle linebacker with Justin Durant (concussion) out, and Damien Wilson remains the strong side linebacker.
Lee and Durant are the only players who have been ruled out for the Redskins game.
Right tackle La’el Collins (back) did not practice this week and is listed as questionable. Collins said after the Thanksgiving Day game that he felt “OK.” But, if Collins can’t go, Byron Bell would likely be the replacement.
Left tackle Tyron Smith (groin/ back) and right guard Zack Martin (concussion) were limited all week, but both are expected to play.
Defensive tackle Maliek Collins (foot) is questionable, too, but has managed to play through his injury. Wide receiver Ryan Switzer (ankle) is also questionable.
As far as the Redskins are concerned, tight end Jordan Reed and defensive tackle Terrell McClain have been ruled out. Left tackle Trent Williams is listed as questionable with a knee injury.
