The Rangers rallied for three runs in the seventh and four in the eighth a 9-5 comeback win against the Rays Tuesday night at Globe Life Park. Elvis Andrus had a career-high five RBIs, all during the two-inning rally.

How Rangers pitchers fared: Kevin Kiermaier tripled to the wall in right-center field with one out in the first inning but Nick Martinez got Evan Longoria to pop out and Logan Morrison to ground out to strand the runner. The Rays scored four times in the third to take a 4-2 lead. Daniel Robertson led off with a homer to left and Corey Dickerson doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Longoria to tie it at 2-2. After walking Logan Morrison, Martinez surrendered a two-run homer to Steven Souza, Jr., to put the Rangers in a 4-2 deficit. Kiermaier homered to center in the fifth to stretch the Rays’ lead to 5-2.

How Rangers hitters fared: Shin-Soo Choo led off with a first-pitch homer in the first, his second first-pitch homer in the past four games. Elvis Andrus followed with a double off the left-field wall and scored on Nomar Mazara’s single to right to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. Down 5-2, the Rangers mounted a rally in the seventh. Joey Gallo led off with a single but was still there after strikeouts by Ryan Rua and Delino DeShields. Choo walked before Andrus belted a three-run homer to left to tie it at 5-5. In the eighth, Jonathan Lucroy and Gallo singled with one out before Ryan Rua loaded the bases with a walk. Jared Hoying, who entered the game defensively in the top of the eighth, lined a long single off the top of the wall in right to give the Rangers a 6-5 lead. Choo’s sac fly to right made it 7-5. Andrus followed with a two-run single to left to push the lead to 9-5.

Notables: Adrian Beltre collected his 592nd double tying Todd Helton for No. 18 all-time ... it’s Beltre’s 1,073rd extra-base hit, two behind Reggie Jackson for No. 24 all-time ... Rangers have homered in a 14 consecutive games, a major-league long this season ... Rays’ starter Matt Andriese left the game in the second inning with a mild groin strain.
