Euless Trinity rallies past Broken Arrow (Okla.) in opener

After a slow start, the Trojans rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit with 33 points and 300 yards of offense in the second half for a 39-16 victory over the Tigers on Friday night at Pennington Field.

Key players: Trinity running back Courage Keihn rushed 28 times for 168 yards and a TD, and QB Malini Maile overcame a shaky start with three TD passes, including two to Corde Burns.

Key stat: Broken Arrow’s scoring came after Trojans’ mistakes after an interception, fumble and face-mask penalty on a punt.

Records: Trinity 1-0, Broken Arrow 0-1.
