Manfield Legacy edges Crowley on QB’s fourth-down touchdown run
Junior quarterback Jalen Catelon scored on a fourth-and-3 play with 3:19 to go, racing in from 23 yards out for the game-winning touchdown as Mansfield Legacy denied Crowley 10-7 on the road on Friday night. Catelon finished with 41 yards on the ground, 62 in the air and also added what proved to be a key interception in the first half in the Crowley end zone. Catelon was the AP Class 5A defensive player of the year in 2016.
Key Players: Legacy running back Grant Johnson ran 22 times for a team-high 71 yards. Crowley running back Rodrick Williams had 15 carries for a game-high 95 yards.
Key stat: Legacy’s defense limited Crowley to 176 yards and forced three turnovers, including two fumbles and Catelon’s interception in the end zone.
