Mets ace Noah Syndergaard adds ‘wave’ to his list of strikeouts
Noah Syndergaard is taking a stand. The Mets ace and former Mansfield Legacy High School star has become a vocal opponent of fans doing the wave during games.
After Tuesday’s win, Syndergaard tweeted “Very happy we won. … but I want the name and address of the person who started the ‘Wave’ tonight,” and emphasized his point with the hashtags #banthewave and #resisttheurge.

The day before, Mets broadcast partner SportsNet New York posted a public service announcement featuring Syndergaard informing fans of the do’s and don’ts while attending games at Citi Field. One of the rules was to not do the wave.
“Please resist the urge to participate,” Syndergaard says in the video. “Just don’t do it. The wave isn’t cool anymore.”
After Wednesday’s game, Syndergaard tweeted his appreciation for a fan who described to him how a wave attempt by two other fans was booed down. He tweeted: “Keep fighting for what’s right in the world. We can do this together!”
