TCU waited until the ninth inning to score all its runs in Friday's 3-2 win over Grand Canyon University. On Saturday, the Frogs were hot from the start in a 14-6 thumping of the Antelope in Phoenix, Ariz.
Junior outfielder Josh Watson, batting cleanup, was the offensive star of the game, reaching base five times, scoring four runs, walloping a homer and driving in three. TCU (2-0) led 9-0 after four innings and would go on to pound out 15 hits.
Watson's bat wasn't the only sizzling stick for TCU. Connor Wanhanen and Adam Oviedo had three hits apiece while Zach Humphreys and A.J. Balta each clubbed two. All four players also drove in two runs.
The offensive onslaught made a winner out of starter Nick Lodolo who allowed six hits and four runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Noah Vaughan had a two-run triple and Josh Minjarez plated two with a single in UTA's six-run third inning that featured four hits, three walks, a couple wild pitches and a passed ball.
