TCU only Texas team receiving votes in latest poll
TCU is the only team in Texas receiving votes in the latest Football Writers Association of America and National Football Foundation’s Super 16 rankings.
That’s still not good enough to crack the poll, which is made up of 48 voters including writers, columnists and former college football players and coaches.
No. 5 Oklahoma is the highest-ranked Big 12 team. The Sooners moved up two spots after beating UTEP 56-7 in their opener. Oklahoma State remained at No. 10 after beating Tulsa 59-24. Michigan made the biggest jump after Week 1, going from No. 11 to 7 after beating Florida. Florida State dropped the most after losing to No. 1 Alabama. The Seminoles went from No. 3 to No. 8 and are the only team with a losing record in the rankings.
