A former TCU football player was charged with robbery causing bodily injuries after taking cash from the register and punching two people at a convenience store in Round Rock last month, according to news reports from Austin television station KXAN and the Austin American-Statesman.

Breylin Mitchell is accused of hitting a store clerk and a customer and taking cash from the store in the Nov. 25 incident.

TCU spokesman Mark Cohen said Mitchell, a sophomore defensive end from Round Rock, and the team had parted ways earlier in the season. Coach Gary Patterson said in October that Mitchell had left the team for personal reasons.

TCU was playing Texas in Austin on the date of the alleged robbery and assaults, and Mitchell was not on the roster.
