TCU (5-2) will look to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time this season Thursday when Texas A&M (5-2) visits Schollmaier Arena. Tipoff for the Horned Frogs’ second leg of the Big 12/SEC Challenge is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Horned Frogs will face an A&M team that was ranked No. 19 in the Coaches Poll just a week ago before suffering two straight close losses of its own to fall out of the national top 25.The Aggies hold a 34-4 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools, including the last five meetings.

Last year, A&M took a close one in College Station, 82-78, but the trio of players who made 22 of Texas A&M’s 33 field goals in that game are no longer on the roster. Point guard AJ Alix, who went 9 of 11 from the field, including 6 of 7 from 3-point territory in that loss, is, however still suiting up in purple this time around.

Late turnovers cost TCU in a 67-61 loss at LSU, as the Horned Frogs clung to a five-point lead with just over five minutes left in the game. But four turnovers during the Tigers’ decisive 12-0 run in the game’s final moments were too much to overcome despite 17 points from Jada Butts and 16 on four more 3-pointers from Alix.
