A Union Pacific train derailed near downtown Weatherford early Wednesday morning, closing roads and downing power lines, police said, and a police spokesman said there's no way to estimate how long it will take to clear due to inclement weather.

An unknown number of residents and businesses in the area are without power. Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing before reaching a high of 39 on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The Weatherford Police Department reported that there were no injuries or hazardous materials.

Freezing rain has been reported in Weatherford by the National Weather Service, but it isn't known whether ice was a factor in the accident.

Sgt. Jason Hayes, a police spokesman, said that most of the train's cars are vertical, which should help crews clear the accident faster, but he added that repair work is being done on the tracks.

He said that the train was 110 cars long and that 10 left the tracks.
