Texas Whataburger fan’s rap video vs. In-N-Out goes viral
It looks like Whataburger may have just found its newest spokesperson.
In the never-ending feud between In-N-Out Burger and Whataburger fans, a Texas college student defended the Lone Star state chain with a rap video.
Pearland native and Trinity University basketball player Isaiah Specks took to Twitter.
“I’m gonna put this out, and y’all might pout. Whataburger’s way better than In-N-Out,” he rapped. “There’s too much now for me to listen and sit by when all they have is one burger and a small fry.”
Whataburger was founded in in 1950 in Corpus Christi. In-N-Out opened its first store in 1948 in Baldwin Park, Calif.
Specks continues, “If you think that In-N-Out Burger is better, you need to step back. Everything bigger in Texas, y’all’s burger a snack.”
He says for Whataburger nay-sayers to try a honey butter chicken biscuit. He also compares Whataburger’s 24/7 hours to In-N-Out’s closing hours at 1:30 a.m.
“I’m not gonna lie to y’all again, In-N-Out is lame, they’re not with Whataburger after a football game. Party’s shut down at 2, man that’s kinda early. Can’t go to In-N-Out because they close at 1:30.”
He ends with, “And a patty melt ain’t the only thing I’m eating.”
His rap video has been retweeted almost 6,000 times and liked about 6,500 times.
This isn’t the first time the two brands have been compared, and certainly won’t be the last.
Business Insider crowned In-N-Out the victor because of its “secret sauce, fresher ingredients, and unbeatable price.” However, it praises Whataburger’s friendly staff and french fry.
The Dallas Observer had three judges sample the two chains in 2011: Two judges recommended Whataburger, and one picked In-N-Out.
In DFW.com’s burger battle last year, both chains were excluded from competition.
