A man drowned on Sunday while swimming in the West Fork Trinity River in northwest Fort Worth, police said.

Jose Medina Villa, 33, drowned about 4:45 p.m. in the river near the 2500 block of Roberts Cut Off Road.

Fort Worth Fire Department divers on Sunday night recovered Medina Villa’s body.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office released the swimmer’s name and age.
