An RV crashed into a home and caused a fire in southwest Fort Worth on Friday afternoon, officials with the Fort Worth Fire Department said.

The driver of the RV was trapped after the crash and was extricated by fire crews before being taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials with MedStar and the Fort Worth Fire Department said.

The crash was reported about 1 p.m. Jan. 10 in the 6000 block of Wrigley Way, according to a Fire Department call log.

Fire crews extinguished the resulting blaze and searched inside the home to make sure no one had been injured there, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

A tow truck removed the RV from the home, and crews with the department’s technical rescue team made sure the structure was stable and secure, according to the post.

No one was injured in the home; residents of the neighborhood later brought cookies and hot chocolate to the fire crews, officials said.
