Wrong way crash in Grapevine kills two
The drivers of two vehicles were killed in a head-on wrong-way crash at about 4:40 a.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Texas 114.
One victim was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office as Thomas Vogt, 51, of Keller. The second victim, a 26-year-old man from Grapevine, had not been identified by Thursday afternoon.
A silver Toyota Rav 4 driven by the Grapevine man was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Texas 114, said Sgt. Robert Eberling, Grapevine police spokesman in a press release. The Toyota hit a Pontiac Sunfire driven by the 51-year-old man, according to the release.
The wrong-way driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and Vogt was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Grapevine by ambulance and pronounced dead on arrival.
