30 displaced, 9 injured in Euless apartment fire
Thirty people were displaced Saturday after a large fire destroyed several apartments in a Euless complex.
The fire was reported about 6:40 a.m., said Keith Smith, Euless Fire Department spokesman. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from The Palisades at Bear Creek apartments in the 200 block of Bear Creek Drive.
Firefighters rescued four people and treated nine for injuries, and one man was taken to a hospital, Smith said. A Bedford firefighter also received a minor laceration and was treated at the scene.
Smith said firefighters from six cities responded to the two-alarm fire. It took about an hour to douse the main fire, and it was tapped out about 9:30 a.m.
Eight apartments were heavily damaged or destroyed, displacing 30 people. The Red Cross began assisting victims soon after the fire was extinguished.
