A woman walking on the freeway near the intersection of Interstate 20 and Hemphill Street early Tuesday morning appears to have been struck by multiple vehicles and killed, Fort Worth police say.

No one stopped to help her, said Capt. Todd Wadlington. The woman was killed shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Later Tuesday morning, police said the suspect is possibly driving a white vehicle.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Wadlington said. Her identity won't be released until the Tarrant County medical examiner notifies her next of kin.

Detectives in the Traffic Investigation Unit are working the case, Wadlington said.
