Guard Ron Leary has been a no-show for the Dallas Cowboys off-season program and was absent for the start of organized team activities (OTAs) Tuesday in hopes of forcing a trade, per sources

Leary was the full-time starter at left guard in 2013 and 2014 before being replaced after three games in 2015 by high-touted rookie La'el Collins.

Slated to be a backup again in 2016, Leary signed his restricted free agent tender of $2.553 million days before the 2016 NFL Draft last month in hopes of being moved in a trade.

The Cowboys openly talked about using Leary as trade bait, but nothing significant materialized to cause them to part ways with the valued backup.

Leary wants to play and wants to start. Barring injury, that likely won't happen in Dallas.

The team signed Joe Looney to be the backup guard and center on game days, meaning that Leary will likely be inactive unless Collins or right guard Zack Martin were injured.

The off-season program and OTAs are voluntary. Leary would be fined if he missed the mandatory mini camp in June.
