Dallas Cowboys

Ex-Cowboys star says he has his former team circled on calendar this year

The Dallas Cowboys were heartbroken when they traded Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers and the defensive lineman talked about playing on the other side of one of the NFL’s most historic rivalries on “The Richard Sherman Show.”

“Speaking to the rivalry, bro, this is a game that for a long time, it’s the game that you got a picture on a dartboard, and you’re throwing the knife at the picture, and now I just take down the picture and I put up the other picture, and I’m on the other side of it, but the energy is exactly the same,” said Odighizuwa.

Odighizuwa was a team captain who spent the first five years of his career with the Cowboys, amassing 216 tackles, 17 sacks and 34 tackles for loss during his tenure.

He was traded to the 49ers for a third-round pick (No. 92 overall) in the 2026 NFL Draft, which the Cowboys used on Jaishawn Barham, an edge from Michigan.

Odighizuwa was selected with the No. 75 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and sounds like he’ll be ready when the teams clash at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, in Week 10 of the NFL season.
