Fort Worth native ties Dallas Cowboys kicker as highest-paid in NFL

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell agreed to a four year, $28 million extension, tying him with Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey for the richest contract ever given at the position.

Boswell attended Fossil Ridge High School in Keller ISD before going to a successful college career with Rice and then in the NFL. He was signed by the Steelers in 2015 and got his first playing time after he didn’t take the field in short stints with the Houston Texans and New York Giants.

Boswell has spent all 11 years of his NFL career with the Steelers, earning first-team All-Pro honors in 2024. Last season he made 27 of 32 field goals, including a 60-yarder.

Boswell’s Steelers will look to make their fourth straight playoff appearance — while still looking for their first postseason win since the 2016 season — as former Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy takes over for Mike Tomlin.
