Cowboys opening practice windows for DeMarvion Overshown and Shavon Revel Jr.

The Dallas Cowboys are opening the 21-day practice windows for center Cooper Beebe, linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and rookie cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. on Wednesday, as they prepare to return multiple defenders and a starting offensive lineman from injury.

Beebe has been on injured reserve since suffering a lateral foot sprain and high ankle sprain against the New York Giants in Week 2. After missing five games, he is in line to get back on the practice field with a hope of playing against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. In his place, Brock Hoffman has been a consistent force in the middle and could allow for an extra week of recovery for Beebe, if needed.

Overshown, who has been out since early December 2024 with a torn ACL, PCL and LCL, is looking to continue what was an electric start to his on-field career last season before coming down with the injury. In 13 games, Overshown tallied 90 tackles, five sacks and one interception return for a touchdown.

“It will probably take the full, allotted three weeks [for his return],” executive vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Monday. “I know he’s fired up. I know the training staff is fired up.”

Revel will hit the practice field for the first time since being drafted in the third round of April’s draft. The East Carolina product tore his ACL in an early season practice during his senior year with the Pirates and has not returned to the football field since. His ACL repair surgery was coincidentally done by Dr. Dan Cooper, the Cowboys’ team physician, months prior to him being drafted by the team.

In a conversation with the Star-Telegram in the locker room on Monday, Revel said that he completely trusts the knee and that he’s eager to get back on the field.

“He’s done some things in the last couple of weeks that make us very comfortable in opening his window and letting him go out there and play football,” head coach Brian Schottenheimer said. “The size and the athleticism jumped off the film [in college].”

With their windows opening on Wednesday, Overshown and Revel are on pace to make their season debuts on Nov. 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Both are expected to need the full three weeks to ramp back up to play speed and strength.
