Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb injured while playing running back
Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is out for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter while playing running back.
Lamb suffered the injury on a carry out of the backfield, and his ankle could be seen on the broadcast being unnaturally bent back.
Lamb lost a yard on the carry, but the play was negated by offsetting penalties.
Lamb is a major blow to the Cowboys’ offense. The Oklahoma product led the team in receiving yards (222) and catches (16) through two games this season.
Lamb re-entered the game early in the second quarter, but was only back for one play before coming back out, noticeably favoring his left leg.
Fox NFL sideline reporter Erin Andrews said after halftime that Lamb would be out for the remainder of the game.
Lamb missed time last year with a shoulder injury that knocked him out of the final two games.
After the game, Lamb said he wouldn’t miss time.
“Absolutely, absolutely,” he said when asked if the injury is something he can play through.
