Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin blasts Jerry Jones for Micah Parsons trade

The Dallas Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, and Hall of Famer Michael Irvin disagreed with the decision, calling it dumb. Why didn’t the former Cowboys star agree with the trade?

Irvin, referencing the new Netflix documentary about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, said he didn’t see this trade as a risk worth taking.

“I know he loved Micah Parsons,” Irvin said. “So, in order for us to be right here, something had to go down that hurt Jerry, personally, to make this crazy, dumb move. ‘The Gambler and his Cowboys’ is the series that is out right now. This is a gamble the gambler should not have taken.

“The last personal thing with Jerry, that was with him and Jimmy [Johnson]. That got in the way, I believe, of a Super Bowl that year. There’s a good chance this personal thing, this time with Micah and his agent, has a good opportunity to get in the way of what I thought was a Super Bowl opportunity.”

Irvin said Cowboys fans are the ones who come out as losers for no longer having Parsons on the team.

“God Almighty, I am disappointed that Jerry and the Cowboys decided to trade Micah Parsons,” Irvin said. “I’m hot about that. I’m hurt for Micah Parsons that he let it get to this place. He stopped talking with Jerry and just cut the lines of communication, I guess, and it has gotten to this. And let’s be real, peeps, let’s be real, as this falls off, as fans we lose because Micah, you know what Micah is. But as fans, I think we are the biggest losers not having Micah on the Cowboys.”

The Cowboys traded Parsons for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks, ending the elite edge rusher’s four-year tenure with the Cowboys that saw him earn thee All-Pro selections, four Pro Bowl selections and a Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
