Super Bowl odds for Dallas Cowboys shift dramatically after Micah Parsons trade

The Dallas Cowboys say trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday was a “unanimous decision” within the organization.

Sportsbooks have offered their own clear verdict: The Packers got better, and the Cowboys got worse.

Green Bay’s Super Bowl odds improved from 20-1 to 12-1 at the Westgate SuperBook after the deal, while Dallas’ odds skyrocketed from 40-1 to 60-1, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The Packers are now tied for the fifth-best odds to win NFL championship with the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers at the Westgate, one of the flagship sportsbooks in Las Vegas. The Buffalo Bills are the +650 favorites to win the Super Bowl, followed by the Baltimore Ravens (7-1), Philadelphia Eagles (7-1) and Kansas City Chiefs (8-1).

The Cowboys now rank 17th on the Super Bowl odds board.

At Circa Sports, known for catering to more sophisticated, so-called “sharp” bettors, the Packers’ odds are even lower at 11-1, while the Cowboys have shot up all the way to 75-1.

The Cowboys are now 7-1 to win the NFC East at Circa, well behind the Eagles (-153) and Washington Commanders (+242).

Odds expressed with a negative number mean a bettor would have to bet that much to win $100. In this case, a bettor would have to wager $153 to win $100 on the Eagles to claim the division title.

Odds expressed with a positive number reflect how much a bettor would win with a $100 wager. In this case, a $100 wager on the Commanders to win the division would earn a $242 profit. A $100 wager on the Cowboys would garner $700.

Sports betting is not legal in Texas, but the odds provide a window into how experts who have a financial stake in the outcome assess a team’s chances.
