How Micah Parsons’ trade request got Nicki Minaj posting about Jerry Jones on X
Micah Parsons’ trade request reverberated through the NFL over the weekend after he requested it on Friday, Aug. 1. The Dallas Cowboys defensive end received support from current and former Dallas Cowboys, including Dez Bryant, whose post started an online war of words with noted rapper Nicki Minaj.
Bryant posted a video on social media site X (formerly Twitter) in support of Parsons’ trade request.
Jones earlier cited Bryant’s 2015 contract negotiated by Roc Nation Sports, saying that Jay-Z promised Bryant would be on time to team events and meetings but that the rap legend stopped taking Jones’ calls when Bryant didn’t hold up his end of the bargain.
Roc Nation disputed Jones’ claim with a public statement, calling it “comical” and noting that the agency earned Bryant the second-largest wide receiver deal in NFL history at the time, and that they never ignored Jones’ calls.
Bryant also responded again on X, threatening that he had information that Jones would not like made public if his name continued to be mentioned.
Enter Nicki Minaj, who has a noted feud with Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation. Minaj quoted Bryant’s post about said she and Bryant could “share stories” in a seemingly playful manner with a GIF from the horror movie “Saw.”
Minaj said her stories would be about Jay-Z, Roc Nation and CEO Desiree Perez, whom she called an “alleged racist” in the post.
Bryant then posted a video saying he wanted no problems with Minaj and hopes she had a great day while calling her Miss Nicki, which seemed to set Minaj off.
She responded, chastising him for thinking everything was a game and correcting him that it’s Mrs. Petty. (Minaj is married to Kenneth Petty.) She then told the former All-Pro to mind his business.
Bryant responded, telling her to have a good day. Minaj responded by admonishing him and mentioning his past arrest for domestic violence against his mother. (No charges were filed in that incident.)
Bryant then responded by mentioning Minaj’s husband, who was arrested and convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in 1995 and is a registered sex offender.
Minaj then went on a rant criticizing Jay-Z and Perez once again, and said her husband was innocent of charges and that they occurred when Petty was young. She also noted that Bryant didn’t have a similar excuse for his actions, and then challenged him to fight her husband for $10 million.
Bryant told her to get the cash ready and he would oblige her request.
Minaj followed by posting tweeting she hopes Jerry Jones has a great day in a dig at Bryant while the Oklahoma State product apologized for the outburst saying he let emotions get the best of him.
