The Dallas Cowboys drafted Boston College defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku with the No. 44 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday.
Here are five things to know about the Philadelphia native.
Used to play offense
In high school, Ezeiruaku played wide receiver and tight end on offense before switching to defensive end.
Defensive player of the year
Ezeiruaku dominated the ACC while at Boston College, finishing his final season with 80 tackles with 16.5 sacks, with three forced fumbles on his way to winning the 2024 ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
Grew up an Eagles fan
Born in Philadelphia and raised in South Jersey, Ezeiruaku grew up a Philadelphia Eagles fan, but said whichever team drafted him would earn his future fandom.
Won National Awards
Ezeiruaku’s excellent 2024 season continued with him winning the Ted Hendricks Award, which is given out annually to the top defensive end in the nation.
An explosive athlete
At the NFL Combine, Ezeiruaku had the sixth-best athleticism score out of any defensive end and ran the fastest three-cone drill (6.94) and 20-yard shuffle (4.19)
