Which player does Michael Irvin say Dallas Cowboys should select in 2025 NFL Draft?
Michael Irvin was on “Up and Adams” with Kay Adams and was asked who he would rather have the Dallas Cowboys draft: Texas WR Matthew Golden or Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty.
“If both are on the board I got to go with Jeanty, now I’m coming back to what I know,” Irvin said. “What I know best is that triplet formation winning games. I know when Emmit [Smith] came the difference he made. We had the same offensive line prior to him getting here but when he got here all of sudden they became the best offensive line ever. That’s because Emmitt was the best running back ever”
Irvin also pointed out the impact that Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley had on their respective teams as further reasoning as to why the Cowboys should pick Jeanty over Golden.
Golden, who attended Texas and Houston, is shooting up draft boards with some experts expecting him to be the first wide receiver taken in the 2025 NFL Draft. He had 58 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns this season for the Longhorns.
Jeanty racked up awards at Boise State winning the Maxwell Award and Doak Walker Award while earning two All-American selections and is projected to be the first running back off the board in many mock drafts.
The Cowboys pick with the No. 12 selection in the upcoming draft and could have a chance at drafting both players with their first selection.
