Michael Irvin chides DeMarcus Lawrence, calling his comments about the Cowboys ‘dumb’

DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons argued on X, formerly Twitter after the Boise State Product said he knew he would never win a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys after signing a new contract.

Parsons fired back that Lawrence was a clown and jealous before Lawrence chided the All-Pro for his consistent social media use.

“Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth,” Lawrence said, “Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left.”

Cowboys Hall of Famer Michael Irvin posted a 12-minute video to YouTube to give his thoughts on the drama.

“I think this for DeMarcus Lawrence is a dumb route, you may be hurt, and you may be angry at the Dallas Cowboys, but to throw back that dart and try to hit them in the head only sticks you right in that neck. Dude you were there, you were there, do something about it don’t wait leave and then talk about it. Come on man and what the side of the ball you were on was the direct [expletive] problem,” said Irvin, “I don’t understand what logic you had thinking that you should say this, honestly” said Irvin.

The Hall of Famer said the pair’s discontent off the field probably led to underwhelming performances on the field for the Dallas defense.

Irvin also pushed back on critiques of Parsons’ podcast, saying as long as the Penn State product performs it shouldn’t matter, and cited that he had a television show during his playing career in the 90’s.

Lawrence signed a three-year $32.5 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks after spending the first 11 years of his career with the Cowboys after Dallas drafted him at No. 34 in the 2014 NFL Draft.
