Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons explains sideline behavior after loss to Bengals

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons was on his show, “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” and discussed his mindset when he left the field before time expired in the team’s 27-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Parsons and the Cowboys’ defense had forced a Bengals punt with the score tied at 20 with two minutes remaining before disaster struck.

Cowboys linebacker Nick Vigil blocked the punt but cornerback Amani Oruwariye fumbled while attempting to secure the ball and gave possession back to the Bengals who would go a game-winning touchdown drive.

After the Bengals touchdown Parsons could be seen emotional and demonstrative on the sideline and left the field with seconds remaining on the clock.

The Penn State product explained competitiveness and frustration took over.

“The frustration is and why I was upset not only am I the most complete competitor,” said Parsons, “It’s heartbreaking for me cause I promise y’all Cowboys Nation that we would make a run...the fact that we lost and I felt like we could have won that game that killed me man like I want to win so bad, all I know how to do is try to find ways to win and impact the game and sometimes when you come up short and it’s a factor where you can’t really control all of it, it sucks, it just kind of sucked the life out of me.”

Parsons said his postgame reaction would’ve been a lose-lose situation regardless of his actions.

“I just feel like you know it’s like damn if I do damn if I don’t you know plenty of fans...if I went over there and was all laughing with the competition after we lost like that a lot of people be mad. I walk off the field because the game’s over and people are mad. It’s just like you know you can’t make everyone happy but I would just say in that specific moment you know it was deeper than that. We’re trying to make a run, we were trying to make playoffs and kind of to lose that one, we needed that one,” said Parsons.

Parsons and the Cowboys will get a chance to get back in the win column when they play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at noon at Bank of America Stadium.
