Deion Sanders responds to questions about becoming head coach of the Dallas Cowboys
Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders appeared on FOX Sports show “Speak,” on Tuesday and addressed speculation that he could become the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys when asked by Cowboys legend Michael Irvin.
“No place needs people to encourage people to be better than they really are besides Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys,” said Irvin.
Sanders, who was video conferencing in on his laptop, rebuffed any ideas about coaching the Cowboys while showing off the Buffaloes home stadium in the background.
“Let me take the computer here because you starting to talk that talk, I gotta show you where I am, I love it where I am,” said Sanders.
Sanders is having a standout season in his second year as head coach of the Buffaloes. Colorado has a 7-2 record, is in second place in the Big 12, and is ranked 17th on the College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings with the Heisman favorite in standout WR/CB Travis Hunter.
Sanders, who played for the Cowboys from 1995-1999, is one of the most popular names pundits have mentioned as a possibility to replace Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy if he’s fired at the end of this season.
The Cowboys have a 3-6 record this season and sit third place in the NFC East and find themselves on the outside looking in on the race for the NFL’s Wild Card playoff spots.
