Former NFL quarterback Tony Romo reveals his favorite celebration with the Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo played over a decade with the Dallas Cowboys and recently was on former PGA Tour member Bryson DeChambeau’s YouTube channel and revealed his favorite celebration from playing for America’s Team.

Romo joined DeChambeau as part of his “Can I Break 50,” series in which the 2024 US Open Champion plays with and interviews guests on a golf course.

The Eastern Illinois product cited a game against the Detroit Lions.

“I threw a touchdown to Terence Williams in the back of the end zone late in the game and I just remember like cause I threw it and I’m down on the ground and I’m just right there and I’m just like hitting the ground and I’m just sitting there and it’s just you thinking about your whole career your life everything and family everyone who’s been a part of it it was just a cool moment,” said Romo.

The play in question was a go-ahead touchdown pass to wide receiver Terrance Williams with 2:32 remaining in a 2015 playoff game against the Detroit Lions which the Cowboys won 24-20.

Romo compared his mentality in the playoff win to the one he had before losing to the New York Giants in the 2007 playoffs.

“We were against the Lions in 2014 (actually Jan. 4, 2015) in the playoffs and I remember walking out to the field with seven, eight minutes to go and I could remember when I was a kid in 2007 against the Giants and the feelings were so different,” said Romo, “I just remember thinking like man, I wish I knew what I know now back then because in ‘07 we had a great team and we lost to the Giants.”

Romo followed up the second playoff win of his career with a loss against the Green Bay Packers in the 2014 NFL Divisional Round.

It would be the last playoff game started by Romo in his NFL career though the Cowboys made the playoffs in the 2016 season with Romo sitting behind Dak Prescott on the depth chart.
