Look for the Dallas Cowboys to get shut out of awards at NFL Honors

The Dallas Cowboys will be well represented at the NFL Honors ceremony Thursday night in Las Vegas.

But just like in Sunday’s Super Bowl don’t look for the Cowboys to come home with any awards.

Quarterback Dak Prescott is one of five finalists for NFL MVP after the finest regular season of his career.

Prescott led the NFL with 36 touchdown passes, becoming the first quarterback in franchise history to lead the league outright.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was named first team All-Pro ahead of Prescott, is the overwhelming favorite to win the award.

Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, who led the league in receptions and yards from scrimmage, are finalists for NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

That honor will likely go to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.

Edge rusher Micah Parsons and cornerback DaRon Bland are finalists for NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Parsons, who led the Cowboys with 14 sacks, was the runner up in each of the last two seasons.

No one had a more accomplished season on defense than Bland, who led the NFL with 9 interception, including a league-record 5 returned for touchdowns.

Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett is the favorite for DPOY.

And former Cowboys safety Darren Woodson is a finalist for induction in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

He is considered a long shot for inclusion.

The same is true for defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, the Cowboys nominee for Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award for his charitable works.

Prescott won the award last season. It is unlikely will give it a Cowboys player in back to back years.
