Dallas Cowboys LG Tyler Smith (foot), RG Zack Martin (illness) ruled out vs. Washington

The Dallas Cowboys will face the Washington Commanders in a must-win game for the NFC East title without starting guards in Tyler Smith and Zack Martin.

Smith did not practice all week and was questionable for the game after suffering a torn plantar fasciitis in last Sunday’s 20-19 victory against the Detroit Lions.

He was officially ruled out hours before the Washington game.

Smith was surprisingly joined by right guard Zack Smith due to an illness.

The Cowboys initially announced that Martin would be able play despite the illness. But the recently-minted, nine-time Pro Bowler was ruled tight before the game.

Look for Brock Hoffman and T.J. Bass to start at left and right guard respectively.

It’s will create a huge challenge for the Cowboys up front as Washington’s best two defenders are defensive tackles Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen.

The Cowboys (11-5) would clinch the NFC East title and the No. 2 seed in the NFC East playoffs with a win against the Commanders (4-12).

They could also clinch the division if the Philadelphia Eagles lose to the New York Giants.

A Cowboys loss and Eagles win would result Dallas getting the No. 5 seed and a date at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the wild card round.
