Former Dallas Cowboys great announced as NFL Hall of Fame semifinalist
Darren Woodson was announced this week as one of 25 modern-era Pro Football Hall of Fame semifinalists.
The semifinalists were whittled down from a pool of 173 players, this is Woodson’s eighth time as a semifinalist with his first coming in 2015.
Woodson played his entire 12-year career with the Dallas Cowboys and was selected to five Pro Bowls, four All-Pro teams and won three Super Bowls with the franchise.
Woodson was inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2015 and is one of four players in the Cowboys ROH not in the NFL Hall of Fame.
Woodson has support from members of the NFL Hall of Fame such as Terrell Owens who said he should be inducted and Kenny Easley who stated the same.
The 25 semifinalists will be culled until only 15 remain from the modern-era list. The Hall of Fame’s 50-person Selection Committee will select the Class of 2024 before Super Bowl LVIII.
Anywhere from four to nine players will be selected for enshrinement.
