Dallas Cowboys’ dud against Kansas City Chiefs scores big-time TV ratings for FOX

The Dallas Cowboys showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday was billed as a potential Super Bowl preview.

Although the Cowboys did not live up to their side of the bargain — failing to score a touchdown in a 19-9 loss at Arrowhead Stadium — FOX scored big-time.

It was the highest-rated NFL game this season, drawing more than 28 million viewers, according to a network release. It’s the highest-rated game on any network since Super Bowl LV in February.

It’s FOX’s highest-rated Sunday afternoon game since 2019 and up 16% from a comparable window a year ago.

America’s Game of the Week on FOX with play-by-play man Joe Buck, analyst Troy Aikman and sideline reporter Erin Andrews is the most-watched television program of the entire 2021 season with more than 22.5 million average viewers.

The Cowboys (7-3) host the Las Vegas Raiders (5-5) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday on CBS/KTVT Ch. 11.
