Three consecutive Dallas Cowboys miscues, Seattle Seahawks blunder highlight wild start
Whew, that was a wild start!
The Dallas Cowboys had breakdowns on three consecutive plays early against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday that put them in a 9-3 hole.
The first came on Russell Wilson’s 43-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Lockett, who was wide open down the middle of the field to put Seattle up 7-3.
On the ensuing kickoff, Tony Pollard muffed the catch, pinning the Cowboys at their own 1-yard line.
On Dallas’ first play from scrimmage, Ezekiel Elliott slipped and was tackled in the end zone for a safety and a 9-3 lead.
The Cowboys, however, drove 65 yards before Elliott punched it in with a 1-yard score. The point-after kick was no good and the game remained 9-9.
The craziness continued late in the first quarter. This time, the Seahawks were on the bad end of things.
D.K. Metcalf caught a long reception that should have been a 63-yard touchdown but Trevon Diggs knocked the ball loose out of the back of the end zone before Metcalf had crossed the goal line.
The game was tied 9-9 after the first quarter.
