Dallas Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott personally delivers $85,000 to North Texas Food Bank

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, known for his feed me gesture, has donated $85,000 to the North Texas Food Bank to potentially help feed 400,000 families in need.

It was the result of a collaboration with Dallas-based CentreTx to release exclusive merchandise with 100 percent of proceeds going to the North Texas Food Bank to provide relief to the North Texas community during the COVID-19.

Elliott delivered the check to the North Texas Food Bank on Tuesday. Elliott was diagnosed with coronavirus in June and has since recovered.

“I am grateful to give back to the city that’s given me so much,” Elliott said in a post on Instagram. “I am thankful for @centretx and YOU my fans for raising enough money to help feed over 400,000 families in North Texas this summer. I hope that this money helps provide much needed relief for those that are currently challenged. I’m looking forward to teaming up with @centretx and @northtexasfoodbank in the future to keep providing meals for those in need in our communities.”

CentreTx also thanked Elliott on social media.

“We’re proud to be able to give back to the city that’s given us so much,” said an Instagram post. “A huge thank you to everyone who supported this project with @ezekielelliott and helped us feed many people in the North Texas community — we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you @northtexasfoodbank for all the good you do and the help you provide our community in a time of such uncertainty.
