Dallas Cowboys captain needs your help feeding children during coronavirus closings

Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick is urging fans to help a cause he’s been passionate about for years.

Frederick’s Blocking Out Hunger Foundation, which has helped provide support for inner-city and low-income children throughout North Texas struggling with hunger, is taking donations to help feed schoolchildren who will be without state-assisted lunches while school is suspended during the coronavirus crisis.

Frederick posted a link to givebox.com on social media where fans can lend a hand.

“With schools closed for extended periods, kids lose access to food,” Frederick posted on Twitter. “A group of my teammates and coaches along with my wife and I are matching $40k in donations to help in this time of need.”

Frederick says $2 feeds one child a day and $25 feeds them for two weeks.

“Anything helps,” he said.
