Former Dallas Cowboys coordinator joining Jon Gruden’s Raiders staff, report says

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli is joining Jon Gruden’s Las Vegas Raiders staff, according to reports.

Marinelli was an assistant head coach and defensive line coach on Gruden’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ staff from 2002-05.

Gruden fired defensive line coach Brenston Buckner, according to NFL Media’s Jim Trotter.

Marinelli, along with most of the Cowboys’ coaching staff, has been replaced by new head coach Mike McCarthy. Mike Nolan will be McCarthy’s defensive coordinator.

Marinelli joined Jason Garrett’s staff as the defensive line coach in 2013. He served as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach since 2014.
