‘Now cut the head coach and GM.’ Dallas Cowboys fans react to team cutting Brett Maher.
Cowboys Nation was a little giddy Monday afternoon.
The news that kicker Brett Maher has been released and replaced by Kai Forbath was greeted with celebratory memes and sighs of relief on social media.
Maher has missed an NFL-high 10 field goals this season, the most for any kicker in the past four years.
But the move wasn’t applauded by all fans. Many took the moment to voice their displeasure with the Dallas Cowboys’ other issues, of which there are many. A lot of fans called for head coach Jason Garrett to be next. And many others called for Jerry Jones the owner to fire Jerry Jones the general manager. Don’t hold your breath on the latter.
Others aren’t so sure Forbath is an upgrade to Maher. We’ll see about that when the Cowboys play the Los Angeles Rams at 3:25 p.m. Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
