Would the Cowboys sign Kareem Hunt?

During his Tuesday appearance on 105.3FM the Fan, Jones said this about about Hunt’s situation:

“Yes, we are keeping a very close eye and have a keen interest in how that is playing out,” he said, before leveling it out a bit. “But we are no different than the other 31 teams in this respect, or 30 teams -- not including Kansas City. [We’re] very interested. It’s a challenging area of what we’re about.

Jones then added this.

“Everyone has no tolerance for domestic abuse, zero tolerance for domestic abuse.”

Last Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs cut Hunt after TMZ released a video that showed the running back was involved in another domestic violence incident.

Bodycam video released by the Cleveland Police Department shows a woman allegedly assaulted by Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt detailing her account of what happened at the Metropolitan at the 9 hotel in downtown Cleveland.

The comments made by Jones are certainly related to how the NFL handles the investigation of Hunt and the process that led to this point.

Last season, Jones and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell were at odds for months over the league’s handling of the alleged domestic violence incident involving Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Former Kansas City Chiefs running back was involved in an altercation at Mosaic nightclub in Kansas City's Power & Light District around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, the night of the Chiefs playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Hunt is currently on the commissioner’s exempt list. However, no team tried to claim him off of waivers. So, technically, he is a free agent.

Here’s how fans reacted to the possibility of Hunt signing with the Cowboys on social media.
