FS 1 host: agents revealed Jason Garrett’s fate, Cowboys are worst playoff contender
Colin Cowherd is paid to provide hot sports opinions.
During his career, he’s dished out a few in regards to the Cowboys.
On Monday, during his Fox Sports 1 show ‘The Herd,’ he mused on the future of several prominent NFL and college football head coaches.
He started the segment by saying that his theories were based on conversations he’s had with the handful of agents that represent a majority of the top coaches at the pro and college levels.
When Cowherd got to Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, he put forth a take that many Dallas fans likely feared.
“All weekend long, everybody I talked to, (they said) ‘he’s not going anywhere,’” Cowherd said. “Let’s be honest about this, Jerry (Jones) has been incredibly loyal to coaches through the years. He gave Dave Campo and Barry Switzer more than they probably earned.”
“Jason is his guy. They may do some tweaks to the to the staff. They’ve done that. But I’ve heard nothing on Jason Garrett moving. In fact, I’ve heard the exact opposite. He’s in Dallas for a long time.”
Cowherd said that if the Cowboys won the NFC East, “they’d be in over their heads” once the postseason arrived.
