Three ex-Cowboys lead the NFL in this key stat. What does that say about Jerry Jones?
The Cowboys’ offense has struggled this season, but the defense has played relatively well.
But one area of concern for the unit is turnovers, specifically interceptions. Safety Xavier Woods managed to record the secondary’s first and only interception of the season during the team’s 19-16 overtime loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday night.
In recent years, Jerry Jones and the Dallas front office have parted ways with a number of high draft picks and acquisitions at the safety and cornerback positions, including Brandon Carr, Morris Claiborne and Orlando Scandrick.
Those three players currently play for the Ravens, Jets and Chiefs, respectively. And all three currently rank near the top of the NFL in terms of passes defended.
Carr and Claiborne are tied for second in that category with seven, while Scandrick ranks tied for sixth with six pass deflections.
