Dallas Cowboys

Sports Illustrated predicts Cowboys out to pasture. And it’s unanimous.

A Cowboys fan seems indifferent when a pick was announced by Dallas during the NFL Draft at AT&T Stadium in April.

Is the national sheen off the Dallas Cowboys? Sure, it’s been more than 20 years since America’s Team won the Super Bowl, but where’s the love?

Sports Illustrated’s MMQB website (that’s Monday Morning Quarterback, for those of you still only reading the hard copy) has no faith in the 2018 Cowboys.

None of the 15 NFL writers and editors for the MMQB site has the Cowboys making the playoffs.

But how do 15 people agree on anything in 2018? Seems odd.

In fact, the Cowboys are only mentioned once among the predicted winners for the seven main league awards, including MVP and offensive and defensive player of the year. Albert Breer picked running back Ezekiel Elliott to earn Offensive Player of the Year. But that’s it. Nothing else.

It’s the second consecutive year SI has predicted Dallas not doing much. Of course, a year ago they were correct, if only because Elliott missed six games. A year ago, only three of the 10 predicted Dallas would miss the playoffs and three had them losing the NFC Championship. But none had the Cowboys reaching the Super Bowl.
