Dallas Cowboys get no love (or respect) from Sports Illustrated
Sports Illustrated isn’t expecting much from the Dallas Cowboys in 2017.
Their NFL predictions are out and none of the venerable magazine’s NFL writers have the Cowboys reaching the Super Bowl. In fact, three of the 10, including Peter King, have Dallas missing the playoffs completely. Balderdash!
The disrespect doesn’t end there, either. Not one Cowboys’ player or coach is a predicted winner of the league’s seven major awards, including MVP, offensive and defensive players of the year and coach of the year.
Albert Breer, Jacob Feldman and Jenny Vrentas have the Cowboys reaching the NFC Championship game but losing to the Seahawks, Falcons or Packers. Six of their 10 NFL writers have the Packers winning the NFC and eight them have the Patriots winning the AFC. So they all really went out on a line with their predictions.
Cheers to Feldman, I guess, for at least predicting the Falcons to beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl.
SI NFL predictions:
Writer | Cowboys | Super Bowl |
Ben Baskin | Divisional round | Packers over Patriots |
Andy Benoit | No playoffs | Patriots over Packers |
Greg Bishop | Divisional round | Raiders over Packers |
Albert Breer | NFC championship | Patriots over Packers |
Chris Burke | Divisional round | Patriots over Packers |
Jacob Feldman | NFC championship | Falcons over Steelers |
Jonathan Jones | No playoffs | Packers over Patriots |
Peter King | No playoffs | Seahawks over Patriots |
Tim Rohan | Wild card | Patriots over Falcons |
Jenny Vrentas | NFC championship | Patriots over Seahawks |
