Public memorial, funeral set for former Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn

A public memorial for former Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrance “Terry” Glenn will be 7 p.m. Friday at Friendship West Baptist Church, 2020 W Wheatland Road in Dallas.

Glenn died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident Nov. 20. He was 43.

A funeral for Glenn will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Friendship West. He will be eulogized by Dr. Fredrick “Freddie” Haynes, pastor of Friendship West Baptist Church. Representatives from the NFL Player Association, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, The Ohio State University, close friends and family will deliver special remarks.

While the family prefers memorial donations be sent to the 83 Kids Foundation, 83kidsfdn.org, floral arrangements can be sent to Golden Gate Funeral Home: 4155 R.L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas.

Glenn played 12 seasons in the NFL, including five with the Cowboys. He played in Dallas from 2003 to 2007, recording two 1,000-yard receiving seasons in 2005 and 2006. Glenn finished his career with 593 catches for 8,823 yards and 44 touchdowns. He caught 208 passes for 3,337 yards and 20 touchdowns with the Cowboys.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Verina; his four sons, Terrance Jr., Christian, Tatum, Greyson; three daughters, Natalie, Samantha and Vanessa; two stepdaughters, Paxstyn and Vyviene; his sister, Dorothy; and many relatives and extended family from Ohio and across the country.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Denetta Glenn.
