Here are the top playmakers from the Falcons’ 27-7 win over the Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle David Irving raised a few eyebrows before last Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons when he posted a nude picture of himself on his Twitter account.
He had nothing on, save for his hands covering his private parts.
On Thursday he finally got a chance to explain.
"As you guys know I'm into acting, I do a little modeling," Irving said. "As you can see, I do a lot man. I do a lot of stuff in the off-season. Right now, I'm not in model shape. I weigh 302 pounds right now. That was in the off-season when I was 275-280. I will probably put out another one come Christmas."
Irving said the photo was done in the summer, but he didn't put it out because of the NFL suspension that sidelined him the first four games for using a banned supplement.
He didn't think the timing was right until now that is back on the field. He has six sacks in five games to rank second on the team.
Irving said he has been acting as long as he has been playing football. He took high-level acting classes in college Iowa State and had a chance to perform on Broadway before it was nixed by his coaches because it was going to cause him to miss spring football.
He did play a small part in the off-season on a series on the Reelz Channel called Murder Made Me Famous. He even has an IMBD page.
His goal is to keep playing at a high level so he can cash in his name and fame in the off-season with his acting, possibly with a hook up on HBO's imitation NFL show Ballers.
“When football is over I'm getting the work,” Irving said. “Hopefully, I will play better, do more things, get my name out there a little more and see what happens. I want to get on Ballers. I have not had a chance to get in touch with them. Now it's football, off season it's acting."
And possibly more nude photo shoots.
