College football roots run deep and Kliff Kingsbury is proof of that.

The Arizona Cardinals head coach has his team atop the NFL with an 8-1 record in his third season after a 31-17 win over the 49ers in Santa Clara, Calif.

The leading NFL Coach of the Year candidate and former Texas Tech player and coach couldn’t let a chance to take a dig at former rival Texas Longhorns after the game.

According to the Associated Press, Kingsbury said after Texas ex Colt McCoy filled in for Kyler Murray to lead the Cardinals’ to the win, that he was happy for Texas Longhorns fans that they can enjoy Colt McCoy’s performance after losing to Iowa State on Saturday.

Perhaps he was being sincere, but even still, the point he made still stings Longhorns fans.

The Longhorns (4-5) have lost four consecutive games for the first time since 2010.
